In making my artwork I’ve always preferred to use natural materials and for my earlier work I’ve mostly worked with natural fibers, wood, metal, concrete or beeswax.
For my current work I’ve made an exception with the polyester lithography material and the polyester ‘paper’ that I use for making backdrawings, as I like the possibilities they offer. It’s fun to play and experiment with these materials. Besides, they don’t look synthetic because of their matt surface and they could be interpreted as paper.
The polyester plate is only used as a background surface for my work; the images are made with (mostly) non-synthetic materials.
