For all these sculptural forms I worked with thin copper as if it was fabric. I ‘dry-stitched’ it on the sewing machine and then threaded the holes by hand. I patinated the copper afterwards, using a.o. vinegar.
I was given a bunch of freshly harvested flax to work with. Using reactive dye I coloured the fibers and together with copper foil and wire turned them into ’tails’.
