The inspiration for this piece were pictures of Monet’s paintings of flower bulb fields at Rijnsburg. I made my own colour palette of them and dyed old linen, cotton and silk with similar colours. These fabrics were then cut into snippets and individually nailed onto wooden panels.
Colourful handdyed and printed fabrics were cut into snippets, which were then individually nailed onto wooden panels. Watered down gesso was used to make a fading gradation.
